Internet-Ready Television

Many new television sets are coming with network connections that are built directly into them. This means that no additional set-top boxes are going to be needed in order to allow the televisions to connect to the Internet. At the same time, many consumers are finding more and more attractive information and entertainment choices available on the Internet, and so they are setting up data networks for their computers and television sets. There are a number of ways that people can benefit from internet-ready televisions.

Netflix, for example, has an online video service that is going to be made available through high definition televisions offered by LG Electronics. Netflix can already be viewed through the television if you have a video game console like the Microsoft Xbox 360 or the Nintendo Wii, but this new deal is going to open up a myriad of new opportunities for Netflix and its millions of users. The LG-television users will be able to access the Netflix online video service, which will give them access to 12,000 different television and movie titles online through the television.

There are other companies that are working on creating similar offerings, including the Yahoo Widget Channel, Apple TV and similar others. The technology is going to make it easier for users to get online through their televisions for high definition browsing and entertainment. They will be able to watch videos, movies and television shows online, and will also be able to browse the Internet, play games and communicate online via their televisions. Internet on the television is the newest technology and it is quickly being developed to meet the needs of users across the globe, and Internet-ready televisions are definitely the wave of the future. The plans between LG Televisions and Netflix are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to these new technologies and what they are truly capable of performing.
